Something about Poland – Joanna Laskowska

Hello my Readers.

In my last post I forgot about the most important thing… introducing myself and my country. So now I will fix my mistake. My name is Joanna, I’m from Poland and I’m a new intern in Clube Intercultural Europeu. I’m living and studying in the beautiful city of Cracow. Below you can find links to my favorites videos about my country. First one shows Cracow in a simple but amazing way, with the background song Myslovitz – Długość dźwięku samotności:

Next one is also Cracow but during Christmas, unfortunately that year wasn’t very snowy but you can feel the atmosphere of this place:

Now something about the whole of Poland, for those who don’t like long videos, Poland in one minute:

and if you are interested after this one, video for a big dessert “Poland is beautiful”

I was born in Sandomierz, so I am also enclosing a bird’s-eye view in a link.

You can notice that polish cities are very green and there is one special fact, in Warsaw every year city stops for few seconds; cars, buses and people. If you don’t believe me… just check:

It happens on 1st of August, the people of Warsaw pay homage to the fallen heroes that fought for freedom in 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising. For Polish people our history is very important so we celebrate plenty of anniversaries of all tragic and proud events.

I hope that my post brought you some new information about my country and encourage you to visit Poland. I think that we are a very friendly nation for foreigners and I hope that you will be very satisfied if you make the journey.

Something about me… I will be in Lisbon for three months so I have plenty of time for sightseeing. My next destination is Sintra, if this city will be half as amazing as in photos it’s going to be an incredible trip. So cross your fingers!
